Which vehicles can be equipped with a Webasto parking heater?
A parking heater can be installed in just about any vehicle.
How long does it take for a Webasto parking heater to warm up the vehicle interior?
That depends on the ambient air temperature and the size of the vehicle. A heating period of 20 to 30 minutes is however normally sufficient to turn uncomfortable minus temperatures into comfortable interior warmth.
How is the Webasto parking heater activated?
The parking heater is activated either by radio remote control (Telestart T91 or Telestart T100 HTM), by mobile phone (Thermo Call) or with the use of the programmable digital timer installed in the car. Test our innovative control elements.
Why does a parking heater increase safety?
According to the statistics most accidents in winter occur within the first 15 minutes of driving off. The reason for this is the limited visibility and the increased reaction times brought about by the low temperatures. A parking heater offers greater safety and comfort on cold and wet days and in winter. Additional advantages: Both the engine and the environment are placed under less strain.
How much fuel does a Webasto parking heater consume?
Of course, modern Webasto parking heaters are optimized for low fuel consumption. They only require an average of 0.6 l / h at full power – that’s just 0.3 l over 30 minutes. But because the engine is not subjected to a cold start, this increase in fuel consumption is almost compensated.
What do you have to pay attention to when a vehicle is operated with biodiesel?
Up to 20 % biodiesel is mixed with conventional Diesel. This mixture is suitable for parking heaters. The parking heater also functions with E10 biofuel (fuel containing 10 % ethanol). Vegetable oil is unsuitable.
What does the Webasto parking ventilation function do? What advantages does this offer?
With the parking ventilation function you can also benefit from the Thermo Top parking heaters in summer. Just like in winter, you can switch on your parking ventilation 20-30 minutes before you get in your car. Fresh air from outside is blown into the car’s interior, thereby avoiding the build-up of heat. The prerequisite is that your parking heater model is equipped with the appropriate function.
Webasto parking heaters also need electricity. What are the implications for the vehicle’s electrical system?
Thermo Top parking heaters also exhibit an optimum electricity consumption / performance ratio. However, the rule of thumb still applies: heating time should not exceed driving time.
Does fitting a Webasto parking heater affect the vehicles’ exhaust emission classification?
No. Exhaust emissions are significantly reduced when the engine is pre-warmed.
Can Webasto parking heaters also be removed and refitted in other vehicles?
Yes. But for technical and economic reasons this does not normally make sense because a parking heater increases the resale value of a car. In addition, the parts that are removed are not usually sufficient to fit the same parking heater into another car. Vehicle-specific components or a complete installation kit are required. The possibility of a conversion should be checked by a technician.
Must a Webasto parking heater be tested and certified?
Standards testing and certification for new models and installation by a technician are no longer required because the parking heater now comes with an ”EC type-approval certificate“. Following professional installation and the affixing of the type-approval mark onto the vehicle’s type plate this certificate must be stamped and signed. The completed EC type-approval certificate must be filled out by your Webasto dealer and must be kept in the vehicle.
Does the Webasto parking heater react automatically to a specific coolant temperature?
Yes! Once the maximum temperature is reached the unit operates in fuel-saving partial load mode or it goes into standby.
What is a Webasto auxiliary heater?
Modern direct injection Diesel engines are so efficient that they do not produce enough excess heat to run the vehicle’s heating system. Diesel vehicles are therefore frequently fitted with an auxiliary heater to ensure a comfortable temperature is reached in the passenger compartment during the journey.
My car already has air conditioning. Can I still have a Webasto parking heater installed?
In most vehicles there is no problem with this installation. Depending on the heating and air-conditioning system installed in the vehicle ex factory, adjustments must be made to the climate control operating component before leaving the vehicle. You can obtain more detailed information from the on-board literature or the user notifications in the installation documentation.
What is the difference between the Thermo Top Evo 5 and the Thermo Top Evo 5+?
Both models have a heating power of 5.0 kW. The Thermo Top Evo 5+ has an optimized control of the coolant circulation resulting in a considerably improved air flow into the passenger compartment and thus an improvement of up to 30%. With a Thermo Top E vo 5 +, your clients will feel the warming effects of the parking heater much sooner than with a Thermo 5!
